Straight Stairlifts
A stairlift is a device that is attached to a staircase to transport an individual up and down the stairs. To use a stairlift, one must be able to safely transfer in and out of the stairlift’s seat and remain in the upright position through the duration of the ride. All stairlifts are equipped with seat belts to assist with balance and safety.
Buit Mobility offers a variety of straight rail stairlifts from the industry’s leading manufacturers, each with a range of additional features and add-on options. We offer free in-home stairlift consultations, where on of our expert Mobility Consultants will help you determine which model is best suited for your specific needs.

About Straight Stairlifts
Stairlifts are installed onto the stair treads, not the wall. No structural modifications are needed.
Most homes have a straight staircase without any turns and will require a straight stairlift.
Stairlift Requirements
Once a Buit Mobility Specialist has the measurements of your staircase, we will cut or add to the rail to your exact needs to fit almost any staircase.
Almost all homes are built with a 34 inch wide staircase and can accommodate a stairlift with no issues, some stairlifts can be installed in as narrow as 29 inches.
When not in use, the seats, arm rests, and foot rests fold flat against the wall to maximize the usable staircase space.
How is a Stairlift Powered
Indoor stairlifts from Buit Mobility are battery-powered and work even during a power outage. They only require a standard wall outlet to accommodate the continuous charging of the batteries.
